Job summary

Roskam Foods is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital and continuous improvement projects in its Grand Rapids area facilities. You will develop scopes, budgets, and schedules, and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Quality to ensure successful installations.

The role requires 5–7 years of food-manufacturing engineering experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and proficiency with RFQs and vendor proposals. On-site work across manufacturing environments is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of engineering experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency with detailed mechanical and installation drawings.
• Experience creating and modifying P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, and RFQs.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements for capital and continuous improvement projects.
• Support equipment installations from concept through startup and project closeout.
• Develop detailed RFQs for equipment, fabrication, installation services, utilities, and construction activities.
• Coordinate installation activities with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, and external contractors.
• Serve as on-site engineering representative during project execution and manage contractor performance.
• Verify installations meet drawings, specifications, GMPs, and safety requirements.
