Job summary

Roskam Foods in Kentwood, Michigan, seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead capital projects and installation efforts across manufacturing lines. You will develop scopes, budgets, and schedules, and drive equipment installations from concept through startup and turnover.

The role requires 5–7 years of engineering experience in food manufacturing, with strong AutoCAD skills and proficiency in P&IDs, piping, and equipment layouts. On-site work with multi-discipline teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience in food manufacturing or related field preferred.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency with experience creating detailed mechanical and installation drawings.
• Experience supporting manufacturing line installations and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements for capital and continuous improvement projects.
• Support equipment installations from concept through startup and closeout.
• Create detailed mechanical and installation drawings and layouts (PFDs, P&IDs, general arrangements).
• Coordinate and manage contractors, vendors, and field teams during installations and commissioning.
