Job summary

Roskam Foods in Grand Rapids area seeks a Project Engineer to drive capital projects from concept to startup. You will develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and RFQs, and lead installation activities with contractors. Strong AutoCAD and experience with P&IDs, layout drawings, and on-site commissioning are essential.

You will collaborate with operations, maintenance and safety teams to ensure GMP compliance and timely project turnover while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of engineering experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency and experience developing installation drawings.
• Experience supporting manufacturing line installations and capital projects.
• Experience creating P&IDs and Process Flow Diagrams; equipment layouts.
• RFQ development and vendor proposal evaluation; project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules and technical requirements for capital projects.
• Lead or support equipment installations from concept to startup and closeout.
• Create RFQs for equipment, utilities, and installation services and evaluate bids.
• Generate and maintain PFDs, P&IDs, utility drawings, and equipment layouts.
• Provide on-site engineering support during installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Coordinate contractors and ensure safe, GMP-compliant execution.
