Job summary

The Mechanical Project Engineer EMC and DMC 1|2 Units at ECI Group's Professional Technical Services Network is an onsite contract role in Waggaman, LA, responsible for oversight, delivery, startup and commissioning of Morimatsu modules and handling systems, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and with high quality.

You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to optimize asset performance, reduce downtime, and support operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; advanced degrees or certifications advantageous.
• 10-15+ years in Petrochem/Chemicals/Refinery construction, or project management.
• Experience in manufacturing and utilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EMC and DMC unit modular equipment delivery, construction, startup and commissioning.
• Lead project lifecycle from permitting to closeout across multiple phases.
• Develop, monitor and control budgets; identify variances and report status to leadership.
• Create detailed project schedules, track progress and manage resources.
• Support consultant selection, subcontractor management, change orders and disputes resolution.
• Ensure projects meet design, safety and regulatory standards; conduct quality reviews.
• Engage stakeholders and communicate project status, risks, and opportunities.
