Job summary

WB Engineers & Consultants seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of building systems projects across science, technology, life sciences, data centers, and government spaces. You will perform site surveys, manage client relationships, collaborate across disciplines, and deliver designs from concept through construction.

The role requires 5+ years in MEP consulting, strong HVAC knowledge, and proficiency with Revit. PE license preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in MEP consulting, mechanical design and project coordination.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience designing HVAC for complex facilities: labs, life sciences, data centers, healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for projects from renovation to new construction.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations across multiple projects.
• Conduct site surveys, facility assessments, and building systems surveys.
• Develop HVAC designs, load calculations, equipment sizing, and energy-efficient solutions.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, narratives, reports, drawings, and construction documents.
• Specify and integrate mechanical equipment (air handling units, pumps, boilers, cooling towers, etc.).
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, architectural, and owner stakeholders.
• Attend client meetings, design reviews, and construction progress meetings.
• Support construction administration with submittals, RFIs, site observations, and closeout.
