Job summary

Thompson & Litton is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer – Building Services to join our multidisciplinary team. You will lead the production of mechanical building services packages (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

You will perform critical calculations for HVAC loads and energy use, conduct field site visits, and generate technical reports and specifications. A PE license and strong knowledge of codes are required.

Qualifications

PE license required or ability to obtain via reciprocity upon hire.
5+ years in building services design (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection) in commercial or institutional sectors.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and HAP (Carrier) or equivalent software.
Strong knowledge of mechanical/building codes and standards (ICC, ASHRAE, NFPA).
Ability to deliver building services projects on time and on budget with clear communication.

Responsibilities

Design and Draft: Lead production of mechanical building services packages (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
Analyze and Optimize: Perform calculations for HVAC loads, energy use, and life-cycle costs for sustainable solutions.
Collaborate in the Field: Conduct site visits to gather data for design accuracy.
Lead Project Delivery: Generate specifications, reports, and building system assessments.
Support Construction: Manage RFIs, submittals, and field reviews during construction.
