Job summary

RK Industries, LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Project Engineer to own mechanical project engineering tasks from preconstruction through closeout. You will coordinate HVAC/mechanical systems, procurement, and scheduling on complex projects, collaborating with PMs, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients.

The role focuses on RFIs/submittals, cost tracking, and field coordination across industrial, healthcare, data center, semiconductor, and mission-critical sites.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of mechanical project engineering experience.
• Experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, MEP Coordinator, Mechanical Coordinator, or similar construction-focused role.
• Experience supporting HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, process piping, controls, fire protection, or commissioning activities.
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, procurement, scheduling, change orders, and project controls.
• Experience supporting industrial, healthcare, data center, semiconductor, mission-critical, or complex commercial construction projects.
• Ability to coordinate field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, as-builts, and project documentation.
• Coordinate procurement activities including equipment tracking, vendor communication, and long-lead material management.
• Support project schedules through look-ahead planning, milestone tracking, and coordination of project activities.
• Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and clients to support successful project execution.
• Assist with change orders, cost tracking, forecasting, buyout activities, and subcontract administration.
• Participate in site walks, QA/QC inspections, commissioning support, turnover, and project closeout activities.
• Help coordinate the installation and execution of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, process piping, and utility systems.
• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
