Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Mechanical Engineer (PE) with at least 4 years of experience to mentor staff and lead HVAC/Mechanical design across disciplines. You will interface with clients during design presentations and coordinate with project teams to produce comprehensive design documents and specifications.

The role emphasizes work planning, design documentation, and site visits, with travel as required. A BS/BEng/BAE in Mechanical Engineering is required; postgraduate degree is preferred.

• Post Graduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor staff within and across disciplines to share knowledge and coordinate project documents.
• Interface and lead coordination with all disciplines during design/coordination phases.
• Direct HVAC/Mechanical engineering work on projects and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
• Write work plans and review weekly with all disciplines to ensure schedule adherence.
• Produce basis of design reports, systems matrices, and preliminary design reports.
• Produce specification sections and Statements of Special Inspections; interface with specifications staff.
• Produce field site visit reports and draft/model documents.
• Travel as project requirements dictate for surveys and field/site visits during construction.

Job description

• Mentoring of staff both within your discipline and across disciplines in the Mechanical Engineering discipline, with the goal of increasing knowledge sharing and collaborating towards a comprehensive, coordinated set of project documents
• Interface and lead coordination with all disciplines during the design/ coordination phases
• Interface with the client in design presentations related to their discipline of registration
• Direct and perform HVAC/Mechanical engineering on projects: maintain work plan and monitor progress of design, detailing, and drawing production throughout design phases to meet deadlines
• Write work plans and review weekly with all disciplines to confirm schedule is adhered to
• Produce basis of design reports, systems matrices, and preliminary design reports on projects the position is leading
• Produce specification sections and Statement of Special Inspections, and interface with specifications staff on projects
• Produce field site visit reports Draft/model documents
• Develop knowledge of Ballinger’s project types (health care, academic/lab/research, corporate/workspace) through active engagement with project teams and leadership
• Travel as project requirements dictate for surveys and field/site visits during construction

Requirements
