Job summary

BeLit, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer responsible for the technical delivery of assigned projects, serving as the primary technical resource accountable for the accuracy, quality, and completeness of all engineering work products.

This role operates with a high degree of independence, coordinating engineering execution and managing multiple projects while ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and company practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical execution, accuracy, and quality of engineering deliverables for assigned projects
• Perform and review engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documents
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and internal quality requirements
• Serve as a technical problem-solver for complex or non-standard design challenges
• Sign and seal work as required
• Manage engineering workflow and technical deliverables across assigned projects
• Drive schedule planning and forecasting in coordination with Project Managers and operations
• Track project progress, deliverables, and milestones to support on-time delivery
• Coordinate engineering scope and priorities with internal stakeholders
• Participate in and lead technical discussions with customers, partners, and consultants
• Manage external correspondence with customers, trade partners, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
• Support customer meetings by providing technical expertise and solutions
• Enforce quality control standards and conduct technical reviews
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks and constructability issues
• Support delegated contract review and technical risk evaluation
• Mentor and guide Staff and Associate Engineers
• Support knowledge transfer, documentation, and training efforts
• Implement process improvements, tools, and workflow enhancements
• Use available resources efficiently and effectively
• Perform other duties as assigned
