Job summary

K2M Design in Columbus, OH is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to complex building projects. You will apply mechanical design experience to HVAC, plumbing, and other systems for commercial and public buildings.

The role requires RevIt proficiency, a BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, and 5+ years of experience. Hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to influence project outcomes are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science from an ABET accredited college or university.
• 5+ years experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Revit proficiency, required.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for commercial and public buildings (HVAC, plumbing, exhaust, and specialty systems).
• Produce high quality drawings and prepare data sheets.
• Perform engineering calculations and develop technical specifications.
• Support construction administration and respond to RFIs.
• Travel up to 15% of time as needed.

Position Summary

An Engineer who uses experience to perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all aspects of engineering design for large and complex projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Knowledgeable in the design of mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, cooling, exhaust, and specialty systems for commercial and public buildings
• Knowledgeable in the design of plumbing systems including gas, potable water, sanitary, sewer, fire suppression, and specialty systems for commercial and public buildings.
• Undertakes a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard engineering techniques for small projects or selected segments of a larger project.
• Relies on experience and judgement for design, development, implementation, and analysis of engineering designs and systems.
• Produces high quality, accurate, and consistent drawings.
• Collects and prepares data/information and performs engineering calculations. Develops technical specifications and data sheets.
• Performs construction administration, drawing review, and response to RFI’s.
• Assists in field work. Available to travel, as needed, dependent upon specific project assignments. 15% of time reserved for travel.
