Carlisle is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead capital projects from concept through startup, delivering equipment and systems for our manufacturing operations. You will partner with plant Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and EH&S to scope, fund, specify, procure, and install equipment.

Approximately 75% office-based with 25% travel to CCM facilities, you will manage timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships while providing technical guidance and training to site teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • 5+ years of industrial/manufacturing experience in a mechanical engineering role.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment, piping, utilities and mechanical systems.
  • Strong project management, communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects from concept through installation, commissioning and startup.
  • Specify, evaluate and procure manufacturing and process equipment.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules and funding requests; prepare technical documentation.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, plant maintenance and engineering resources during project execution.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and systems; develop effective solutions.
  • Develop equipment specifications, RFQs and installation requirements.
  • Build strong partnerships with plant teams and equipment suppliers.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to Engineering, Maintenance, Operations and EH&S teams.
  • Travel to CCM facilities to support project planning, equipment installation, startups, commissioning and training.

Job description

Carlisle is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Central Engineering team. This is an opportunity to lead capital projects that transform ideas into fully operational manufacturing equipment and systems across our growing organization.

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will own projects from concept through startup, including developing project scopes, preparing funding requests, specifying and procuring equipment, managing budgets and schedules, coordinating contractors, and supporting installation and commissioning. You'll partner closely with plant Engineering and Maintenance, Operations, EH&S, and leadership to identify technical challenges and deliver practical solutions that improve manufacturing capabilities.

You’ll apply your mechanical engineering expertise to a wide range of industrial projects involving manufacturing equipment, utilities, piping, instrumentation, temperature control systems, and mechanical systems. You’ll also troubleshoot existing equipment, evaluate vendor proposals, develop equipment and installation specifications, and provide technical support and training to plant personnel.
