Job description

Wilson & Company’s Albuquerque, NM office is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer with task and project management skills and experience in HVAC and plumbing design to design construction plans, specifications, and studies for a variety of federal, educational, industrial, municipal, and commercial projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Mentorship of junior staff.
• Effectively fosters relationships with team members and clients, as well as industry stakeholders and regulators.
• Participates in business development activities, such as marketing, developing project win strategies, and preparing technical data for proposals and interviews.
• Ensure quality management with implementation of quality control standards.
• Creation and management of the mechanical scope of work for the project.
• Oversee the development of detailed design drawings, sizing, selection and layout of mechanical equipment.
• Develop project specifications to meet the performance requirements.
• Client interaction and coordination.
• Develop and maintain progress, quality control, schedule, staffing planning and coordination with project management including regular reporting.
• Coordinate communications between the project team, the engineering and design team members to assure quality of work and that consistent technical content drawing/design packages are maintained throughout a project.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with mechanical design of facilities.
• Currently a licensed professional engineer in New Mexico or within a year of obtaining a New Mexico license.
• Experience with MEP software such as Revit MEP is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation is a plus.
• Experience in preparing work plans, budgets and project schedules is highly desired.

Annual Salary Range: $84,000 - $167,000+ (based on experience)
