Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to support HVAC and plumbing system design for commercial, institutional, governmental, and educational facilities. The role emphasizes BIM-enabled design using AutoCAD and Revit, with coordination across teams and clients.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of mechanical design experience in the consulting engineering field, familiarity with relevant codes, and experience with AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years mechanical design experience in consulting engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and related design software.
• Familiar with HVAC and plumbing systems, piping, and control systems.
• Experience on federal projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Equipment selection and mechanical plan layout for HVAC/plumbing systems.
• Develop designs within BIM environment and coordinate with project teams.
• Prepare field observation reports and site visits.
• Support development of project standards, processes, and procedures.
• Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and maintain client communication.
• Coordinate with vendors and stay up to date on codes and standards.

Wilson & Company is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to assist our mechanical engineering and design team with a focus in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, governmental, and educational facilities.The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding and background in building HVAC systems, plumbing systems, piping, process systems, control systems, PFD, and P&IDs.Roles and Responsibilities:Equipment selection, mechanical plan layout, cost estimating, coordination with other consultants and team members, and client interaction. Develop and design within a BIM design environmentAssist in developing project technical standards, processes, and proceduresAbility to take direction from the Engineer of Record (EOR) and complete projects within project schedules and assigned budgetsProvide field observation reports of onsite analysis and consultationCollaborate with the internal and external project team to execute a project from concept to completion including meeting attendance, site visits, response to RFIs, submittal review and responsesMaintain rapport with industry vendors and stay up to date on the latest mechanical system trends and solutions appropriate to building technologies and design/construction industryThe candidate must have a working knowledge and familiarity with several mechanical design codes and software.
