Wilson & Company is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to assist our mechanical engineering and design team with a focus in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, governmental, and educational facilities.The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding and background in building HVAC systems, plumbing systems, piping, process systems, control systems, PFD, and P&IDs.Roles and Responsibilities:Equipment selection, mechanical plan layout, cost estimating, coordination with other consultants and team members, and client interaction. Develop and design within a BIM design environmentAssist in developing project technical standards, processes, and proceduresAbility to take direction from the Engineer of Record (EOR) and complete projects within project schedules and assigned budgetsProvide field observation reports of onsite analysis and consultationCollaborate with the internal and external project team to execute a project from concept to completion including meeting attendance, site visits, response to RFIs, submittal review and responsesMaintain rapport with industry vendors and stay up to date on the latest mechanical system trends and solutions appropriate to building technologies and design/construction industryThe candidate must have a working knowledge and familiarity with several mechanical design codes and software.
