Job summary

Aptiv seeks a Mechanical Product Engineer to advance High Voltage connection systems and fast/charging inlet designs in Warren, OH, reporting to the Product Engineering Supervisor. You will drive concept through production with teamwork across engineering and supplier teams.

The role emphasizes crossing from prototype to validation and launch, with travel as needed and focus on manufacturability and cost targets. The team collaborates to deliver safe, durable mobility solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum 6+ months of experience/working knowledge of basic component design.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting edge connection system technology for automotive applications.
• Expand inlet portfolio to meet OEM and Tier customers' specifications.
• Ensure HV connection systems meet targets for manufacturability, cost and material usage.
• Responsible for product design and management from concept to approved production design including: Prototype and Proof of Concept, Validation, Production Implementation.
• Interact with internal and external customers, suppliers, and management to ensure seamless product launches.
• Collaborate on project execution, root cause analysis and design of experiments.
• Participate and/or lead internal and external design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements.
