Job summary

Silicontek Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineering professional to lead product development, design, testing and validation activities in Pontiac, IL.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive NPI, participate in FMEA, and ensure engineering drawings are current and release-ready. A BS in Mechanical Engineering and 2–4 years of related experience are required, with internship experience considered.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in product development or a similar engineering role.
• Internships in a technical field are acceptable if at least 3 months long.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and solve problems with suppliers and internal teams.
• Coordinate measurement, assembly and test planning.
• Disassemble injectors, inspect components and compare to pre-test data.
• Update engineering drawings and coordinate production release.
• Provide routine progress updates to senior management.

Position s Contributions To Work Group

• Product Development (NPI)

Typical Task Breakdown

• Design, product development, and problem-solving meetings with suppliers, internal manufacturing, assembly and test teams
• Coordinate and conduct measurement, assembly and test planning
• Disassemble injectors, inspect, measure components after test, and compare results to pre-test condition
• Update engineering technical drawings and coordinate production releasing
• Provide routine progress updates to senior management

Interaction With Team

Daily in-person and virtual interactions with complete team

Team Structure

Five engineers and one test technician report to work director/manager

Work Environment

• Desk location in office (40-50%)
• Test lab & factory (50-60%)

Education & Experience Required

• Years of experience: 2-4 years
• Degree requirement: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
• Do you accept internships as job experience: Yes, if in a technical field and at least 3 months in duration
