Job summary

Red Wing Brands of America seeks an experienced manufacturing engineer to lead and optimize mechanical, electro‑mechanical, and chemical production processes in our facility. You will program CNC/PLC/Robotics-automation equipment, design fixtures in CAD, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role requires 5–7 years of related experience or equivalent education, plus knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years related experience or equivalent education.
• Experience with Auto CAD or other mechanical CAD.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing process performance to maintain optimum process efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Routine programming of software-based equipment (CNC/PLC/Robotics/Automation) and vendor engagement/management as required.
• Lead and/or participate in creating mechanical assembly fixtures using CAD software.
• Provide leadership for assembling, testing and qualifying computer stitch pallets. Make modifications to stitch programs as required.
• Conduct in-process quality tests to ensure processes meet requirements.
• Design and execute trials for experiments to validate process performance.
• Assemble & build new or modified equipment in accordance with drawings or instructions.
• Prepare documentation and instructional materials as needed to support operator training for production equipment and processes as well as conducting training as needed.
• Liaison with 3rd party vendors to facilitate equipment builds, installation and repairs.
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality and efficiency.
• Effectively collaborate and communicate with all internal and external team members.

The targeted hiring range for this full‑time position is $52,000-$68,000 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Qualifications

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Five to seven years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES or KNOWLEDGE:

• Auto CAD or Other Mechanical CAD Experience
• PLC or C++ Programming (General Programming Experience)
• Working knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing is mandatory
