Job summary

Red Wing Shoe Company is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for the Potosi, MO site. You will manage budgets, schedules, and daily operations, while driving improvements to safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance.

You will develop objectives, lead lean initiatives, and engage staff to maximize productivity and morale. Collaboration across functions and locations is essential to achieve site goals and financial targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of related experience in a process manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and employee systems to manage time and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgets, schedules and daily operations including safety, quality, cost and delivery.
• Develop goals and action plans to meet business objectives for the site.
• Drive continuous improvement using LEAN tools to optimize processes and resources.
• Lead and engage staff; foster effective communications and positive labor relations.
• Collaborate with other functions and locations to share best practices and drive alignment.
• Forecast requirements, prepare annual budget, monitor variances and take corrective actions.
• Support R&D efforts for new processes and machinery to improve performance.

Job Description

Red Wing Shoe Company is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to join our Potosi team. The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for managing the budgets, schedules and daily operations (safety, quality, cost, delivery) along with improvements to production processes and employee morale at the department level.

Production CORE Hours

Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM-4:30 PM.

Plant production overtime may expand core hours and include Fridays. This is an exempt position.

Develop and implement goals and action plans to achieve business objectives for Potosi: safety, quality, cost, delivery and people.

Drive continuous improvement of operations through effective assessment of capabilities and maximization of resources and utilization of LEAN tools to improve current processes.

Drive continuous improvement of human resources through effective assessment of capabilities, development of internal resources and leveraging external sourcing where needed to achieve objectives.

Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures. (e.g., safety, quality, finance, human resources).

Drive employee engagement, effective communications and positive employee relations.

Ensure effective collaboration with other business partners in Potosi and other manufacturing locations/ business functions outside of Potosi as opportunities arise.

Achieve financial objectives for area of responsibility by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Effectively engage in research and development of new/improved processes and machinery as opportunities arise.

Ensure effectiveness of the staff through communications; coaching/counseling; monitoring and appraising job results; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures; selection, training and development; and maintaining a safe, secure and legal work environment.

Additional Duties:

Ongoing systems training as needed to be current with system software and RWSC’s quality system.

Ensure a clean and safe work environment.

Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

Qualifications

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills (examples required), including the ability to motivate employees to take ownership in the responsibilities of their respective positions and for their quality and safety performance. Preference for at least two years of experience managing in a process manufacturing department
• Microsoft Office proficiency plus other employee systems to manage time and attendance
