HIRING A MECHANICAL PRACTICE AREA LEADER - HEALTHCARE IN HOUSTON

ACCOUNTABILITY

Oversees design standards and training of staff within discipline. Responsible for standards associated with design approach, construction documents, specifications, construction administration, analyses, reports, studies, etc., and engineering design project cost control. Ensures that the department operates consistently and efficiently, meeting customer expectations, company standards, and coordinating with other departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Enlist Design Director to provide technical support and assist in personnel qualification determination
• Develop and implement annual training programs to promote staff growth and design quality
• Define project scope, design philosophies, and work descriptions in engineering terms
• Participate in Quality Control reviews of design criteria, documents, and specifications
• Hold monthly Department Meetings to discuss procedures
• Participate in Management Meetings and internal functions
• Review and update office standards and details
• Review completed drawings for progress and quality
• Represent the firm in professional organizations (e.g., ASHRAE, IESNA, ASPE) and industry events
• Share industry trends and technical information with staff
• Travel to other locations annually for staff engagement and training
• Maintain an organized work area for efficient information access
• Attend seminars and continuing education to enhance skills
• Perform additional duties as needed

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Professional Engineering license required.
