Job summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Plumbing Engineer to join our MEP team in Mount Holly, NJ. The candidate will design, analyze, coordinate, document, and administer plumbing systems for various projects, leveraging a PE license and strong code knowledge.

The role involves leading hydraulic calculations, developing layouts, and ensuring compliance with IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE, NFPA, LEED/WELL, and coordinating with multiple disciplines in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • 3–5 years of mechanical/plumbing engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing engineering principles and codes.
  • Experience designing plumbing systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional projects.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, Bluebeam, and Mathcad.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, fire protection, and specialty piping systems.
  • Perform hydraulic and engineering calculations, including pipe sizing, pressure loss, flow rates, and equipment selection.
  • Prepare plumbing layouts, construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE, and NFPA standards.
  • Incorporate LEED and WELL green building requirements where applicable.
  • Coordinate plumbing designs with architectural, HVAC, electrical, structural, and other disciplines.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Review shop drawings, product submittals, RFIs, and other construction documentation.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, field assessments, and construction administration activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Support project management activities to meet quality, schedule, and budget targets.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Plumbing Engineer to join our MEP team in Mount Holly, NJ. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, coordination, documentation, and construction administration of plumbing systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing engineering, excellent knowledge of applicable codes and standards, proficiency with industry design software, and an active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, fire protection, and specialty piping systems.
  • Perform hydraulic and engineering calculations, including pipe sizing, pressure loss, flow rates, and equipment selection.
  • Prepare plumbing layouts, construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable local and national plumbing codes and standards, including IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE, and NFPA.

Required Qualifications
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license – Required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant mechanical/plumbing engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing engineering principles, practices, and applicable codes.
  • Experience designing plumbing systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional projects.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, Bluebeam, and Mathcad.
  • Experience with hydraulic calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of MEP coordination and construction administration.
  • Experience reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work in person at the Mount Holly, NJ office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LEED and/or WELL projects.
  • Experience working on complex healthcare, institutional, commercial, or industrial projects.
  • Strong project management and client-facing experience.
  • Knowledge of current plumbing and building code requirements.
