Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Birmingham, AL seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to lead complete designs of piping systems and related facilities. You will work under general supervision, perform stress analyses, prepare construction specs, and coordinate with multiple disciplines.

Ideal candidate has 3+ years of industrial experience, a BE/ME in mechanical engineering, and PE registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Professional Engineer registration is highly preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
• Develops conceptual layouts and cost studies to solve engineering tasks.
• Produces detail design calculations and sketches for construction materials.
• Reviews vendor and other discipline drawings for mechanical input.
• Provides field data gathering and construction support.
• Advises senior engineers on design or scope changes.
• Assists drafting group with layout and detailing problems.
