Job summary

H&G Systems in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Mechanical Piping Lead to lead field piping installations on commercial and industrial projects across the DFW area, including data centers and manufacturing facilities.

You’ll mentor apprentices, oversee welding and fabrication, and ensure safety, quality, and timely project completion. Compensation includes $40-$45/hour plus a company take-home truck and year-round work.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in commercial and industrial HVAC piping systems.
• Advanced welding with 6010, 6011, 7018 electrodes.
• TIG welding on stainless steel piping.
• Copper soldering from ¼" to 3" piping.
• Proficiency with grooved, threaded, ProPress, and MegaPress piping systems.
• Experience leading apprentices or small field crews.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and isometric drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license with insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical piping installations on commercial and industrial projects
• Coordinate daily manpower, materials, equipment, and jobsite activities
• Perform and oversee advanced pipe welding, fabrication, and fitting
• Install and troubleshoot chilled water systems, pumps, chillers, and specialty mechanical equipment
• Support plant shutdowns, retrofits, equipment replacements, and system upgrades
• Interpret project drawings, specifications, and installation requirements
• Maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards on every project
• Mentor apprentices and junior craftsmen while helping develop the next generation of mechanical professionals

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Copper soldering experience on piping systems ranging from ¼" to 3"
• Proficiency with grooved, threaded, ProPress, and MegaPress piping systems
• Experience leading apprentices, helpers, or small field crews
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and isometric drawings
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
