Job summary

Hilton Mechanical Contractors is seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping Foreman to join our Alpharetta, GA team. This role involves supervising pipefitters and welders on industrial and commercial jobsites, reading blueprints, managing underground piping, and ensuring safety and quality standards on site.

Travel across Georgia and occasional out-of-state assignments are required. Expect a 40–60 hour work week with potential weekend work; pay ranges from $35 to $42 per hour, with overtime

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years minimum experience as foreman or lead on mechanical piping projects.
  • Experience with plastic pipe fusion systems (Niron, Aquatherm, HDPE) including socket, butt, and electrofusion.
  • Experience with steel welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW).
  • Copper brazing techniques and quality standards knowledge.
  • Underground piping installation and site utilities experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs, and specs.
  • Strong safety mindset and OSHA-compliant practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct pipefitters, welders, and helpers on industrial and commercial sites.
  • Oversee installation and fabrication of piping systems (Niron, Aquatherm, HDPE, stainless/carbon/copper).
  • Manage underground piping layouts, bedding, backfill, and coordination.
  • Ensure welding, fusion, and brazing procedures meet standards.
  • Plan daily work to meet project schedules and production goals.
  • Read blueprints, P&IDs, specs; track hours and progress.
  • Maintain safety, OSHA compliance, and coordinate with contractors/inspectors.
  • Assist with material ordering, inventory, and tool tracking.
  • Maintain daily reports and perform hands-on welding when needed.

We are a growing mechanical contractor specializing in industrial piping, skid fabrication, and equipment installation. Our team works on a mix of shop-built systems and field projects, giving employees exposure to a variety of hands-on work. Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping Foreman to join our team. This position is based out of Alpharetta, GA, with regular travel required to jobsites across Georgia. Occasional out-of-state travel is also required; out-of-state assignments typically follow a Monday–Thursday schedule with return home on weekends.

Applicants must be willing to travel to jobsites as needed.

Schedule: 40-60 hrs/week, possible weekends

Pay Range: $35/hr - $42/hr

  • Supervise and direct pipefitters, welders (carbon steel, stainless steel, plastic, copper), and helpers on industrial and commercial jobsites
  • Oversee the installation and fabrication of mechanical piping systems including Niron, Aquatherm, HDPE, stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper
  • Manage underground piping installations including layout, excavation coordination, bedding, and backfill procedures
  • Ensure proper welding, fusion, and copper brazing procedures, parameters, and quality standards are followed
  • Plan and coordinate daily work activities to meet project schedules and production goals
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, P&IDs, and project scopes
  • Track crew hours, materials, and job progress; communicate updates to project management
  • Enforce jobsite safety standards and ensure OSHA compliance in industrial environments
  • Coordinate with general contractors, facility owners, other trades, and inspectors
  • Identify and resolve field issues, RFIs, and conflicts in a timely manner
  • Assist with material ordering, inventory management, and tool/equipment tracking
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation
  • Perform hands‑on welding, fusion, brazing, and pipefitting work as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a foreman or lead role on mechanical piping projects

  • Experience with plastic pipe fusion systems (Niron, Aquatherm, HDPE) including socket, butt, and electrofusion methods

  • Experience with steel welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW)

  • Experience with copper brazing techniques and associated quality standards

  • Experience with underground piping installation, including site utilities, and process piping

  • Knowledge of welding, fusion, and brazing quality verification procedures

  • Basic understanding of hydronic or mechanical piping systems

  • Pipefitting experience in commercial or industrial construction

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and project specifications

  • Experience working in industrial construction environments

  • Proven leadership and crew management skills

  • Strong knowledge of jobsite safety practices and OSHA regulations

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Alpharetta, Cartersville, Covington, and occasionally out of state

  • Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check

  • Construction process and safety training certifications (OSHA 30, Aerial Lift, Fall Protection, Rigging, Tele‑handler)
