Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a mechanical/piping designer with 4+ years of industrial experience to perform complete piping design tasks under general supervision. You will draft piping layouts, develop P&IDs and GA drawings, and coordinate with project teams to ensure designs meet specifications.

Qualifications include an associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD. Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and Microstation, along with MS Office, is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.
• Experience: 4+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.
• Knowledge: Piping materials, piping supports and restraints, valve sizing, P&ID’s and GA’s drafting.
• Design: Design of less complex piping systems and equipment arrangements, and 2D CAD drafting standards.
• Tools: Proficient with AutoCAD and Microstation; MS Word/Excel/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete designs of mechanical/piping assignments under general supervision.
• Develop design/drafting of moderately complex piping drawings from P&ID’s, GA’s and specs.
• Conduct field design work to assess conditions and communicate with client personnel.
• Prepare material take-offs from piping drawings and plan site design activities.
• Assist in startup on-site as needed.
• Ensure alignment with department standards and project scope.
