Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking a highly Experienced Mechanical/Piping Designer to lead a team in delivering all mechanical and piping deliverables. You will guide design staff, ensure scope and design criteria are met, and coordinate across disciplines to meet schedule and budget.

Ideal candidates will have 15+ years of industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting, proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and Microstation, and strong communication skills for client and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD required.
• 15+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.
• Knowledge of piping materials and design of moderately complex piping systems.
• Experience with piping supports, restraints, and steam traps/safety valves.

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team to deliver mechanical and piping scope on time and within budget.
• Provide technical guidance to junior drafters.
• Produce P&ID’s and GA’s with engineering review and approval.
• Estimate construction quantities and prepare cost estimates.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and lead squad checks for cross-discipline alignment.
• Develop installation specifications and construction documents.
