Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking an experienced estimator for mechanical piping scopes in our Birmingham, AL area projects. You will cost out below and above grade piping, perform takeoffs, and develop comprehensive estimates using historical data and estimating software.

The ideal candidate has 3–10 years of piping estimate experience, strong mathematical/analytical skills, and excellent communication. This role involves reviewing plans and collaborating with management and clients to produce

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or related field.
• 3-10 years experience managing or estimating below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
• Experience in managing the construction or estimating construction costs for below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
• Knowledge of piping systems, construction practices, and industry standards.
• Exceptional mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Technical writing skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize resources.
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-perform production knowledge.
• Quantity survey experience.
• Proficient knowledge of estimating software.
• Experience representing company with industry and community organizations.

• Solicit and review pricing for materials, equipment and specialized subcontractors
• Assist in the preparation of thorough, clearly structured, and detailed estimates and proposals for presentation to management, clients, and other stakeholders.
