Who we are looking for: We are currently seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer based in Harvey, IL. Reporting to the Tool & Die Manager, this role involves developing and troubleshooting processes and product lines related to design, material, or process.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering. Experience in lean manufacturing or business systems is a plus.

What you’ll do:

• Facilitate and participate in concept brainstorming and strategy sessions.
• Influence and lead multi-functional teams to achieve goals.
• Develop and troubleshoot product lines as a hands-on engineer.
• Maintain and modify plant equipment for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Design experiments and analyze data to support product lines.
• Design and implement testing methods and equipment.
• Maintain research and engineering documentation.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting quality issues.
• Conduct feasibility studies to verify capabilities and assess technologies.
• Research future concepts and monitor technological trends.

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
• 2-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in 2D CAD applications like AutoCAD; Inventor and 3D CAD skills are a plus.
• Strong computer skills in Windows applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• Teamwork skills with leadership and accountability abilities.
• Project management experience including planning, documentation, and execution.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

• Complete the Atkore Immersion Program.
• Understand how your role supports Atkore’s strategy.

Within 6 months, you’ll:

• Conduct time studies and recommend process improvements.
• Develop work instructions and design operational systems.

Within 12 months, you’ll:

• Manage continuous improvement projects for cost savings and quality enhancement.
• Research future concepts aligned with technological trends.
