Job summary

United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician Mechanical to support our heavy industrial operations. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, repairing, and operating a wide range of mechanical systems and equipment to sustain continuous production.

The position requires basic hands-on experience, adherence to safety procedures, and willingness to work 8–12 hour shifts including weekends and holidays. Overtime is required as needed, and PPE is supplied at no cost.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year manufacturing/industrial experience (including military) or equivalent education.
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, power transmission systems, welding, pipefitting, structural repair, or diesel mechanics is a plus.
• Machine Shop experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission systems, conveyors, cranes, and mobile equipment.
• Assist operating functions as necessary.
• Work at heights and/or in confined spaces may be required.
• Work in various plant areas with hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy environments.
