Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Barberton, OH

Mechanical Maintenance Technician – BWX Technologies, Inc. – Barberton, OH

Responsibilities
  • Repairs, maintains, oversees, modifies and adjusts all types of mechanical, hydraulic, and associated electrical controls on all types of plant equipment in collaboration with hourly personnel performing the major portion of manual duties, except where assistance is required.
  • Works from blue prints, hydraulic and electrical schematic drawings, sketches, instruction manuals, specification sheets, and verbal instructions.
  • Examines and tests defective parts using hand tools and appropriate precision instruments and gauges. Secures necessary parts, or repairs and reassembles, or directs the reassembly of equipment.
  • Inspects, adjusts, calibrates and assists in the installation of plant equipment through the use of optics, laser and leveling instrument techniques, as directed or periodically in accordance with established schedules, specifications and standards to insure meeting operating requirements.
  • Maintains performance and maintenance records of changes and adjustments performed on equipment.
  • Prepares drawings, sketches, building, and equipment layouts as required.
  • May be required to perform periodic inspection and disposition of all lifting and handling equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $64,000 - $90,000.

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $64,000 and $90,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time as the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.

Selected employees will be employed ‘at‑will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
