Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Barberton, Ohio, is seeking an experienced welder for the weekend shift to perform electric arc, semiautmatic, and heliarc welding operations.

The successful candidate will set up and operate welding equipment to produce precise welds in all positions, following procedures. Minimum 2 years of welding experience and a pre-employment screen are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, comprehend and adhere to written and verbal instructions to set up and perform welding operations.
• Must complete weld certification tests, including 6G pipe in a variety of materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding equipment to produce pressure and strength welds in all positions.
• Work weekend shift (Saturday–Sunday 12 hours, plus 8-hour day Monday or Friday) and follow safety and quality procedures.

Manual Welder - Weekend Shift - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, OH

Candidates please note: This position is available on our weekend shift which consists of twelve (12) hours on Saturday and Sunday and eight (8) hours on Monday (the eight shift could be Friday instead of Monday); work thirty two (32) hours and get paid for forty (40) hours. Scheduled off days are Tuesday through Friday or Monday through Thursday depending upon the shift. Training will be on the Monday - Friday crew before being assigned to the weekend crew.

We currently have an opening for an experienced welder who can perform specialty welding operations at our facility in Barberton, Ohio. The successful candidate will set-up and operate elecric arc, semiautmatic, and heliarc welding equipment to produce pressure and strength welds in all positions using SMAW, GTAW and GMAW processes.

Job Qualifications / Requirements

• ALL applicants must pass a Pre-Employment Weld Screen in order to be considered for this position.
• Must have the ability to read, comprehend and adhere to both written and verbal instructions to set-up and perform welding operations.
• Must be able successfully complete all weld certification tests, which include, but are not limimted to, 6G pipe in a variety of materials.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience is required in welding. Lesser experience coupled with formal training and/or previous certifications may be acceptable.
• High school diploma/GED is required for all BWXT positions, and graduation date will be verified via background check.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to work ANY SHIFT.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check prior to hire date.

Please note: The hourly rate for this position is up to $40.34 and is complemented by a generous benefits package. Upon an offer, a relocation package is available for eligible candidates.

Pay: $40.34

The starting rate for this position in Ohio (US-OH) is $40.34 per hour. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
