Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our manufacturing facility in Washington, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that equipment and systems are fully operational to maintain continuous production and meet production goals. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of mechanical equipment, including rolling mills, annealing furnaces, slitters, conveyors, and mechanical components such as hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, and power transmission systems. This position requires a strong problem-solver who can quickly learn our manufacturing equipment and systems, and maintenance program. Safety is a core value, and you will play a vital role in ensuring safe operations and processes.

Responsibilities

  1. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment.
  2. Perform maintenance on cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
  3. Follow all safety practices and rules to ensure equipment is operating safely.
  4. Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency electrical maintenance on various systems.
  5. Implement process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  6. Use standard and specialized tools to assess and troubleshoot issues.
  7. Maintain accurate records of projects, including machine assembly, start-up, and installation.
  8. Participate in daily meetings to prioritize and review the daily schedule of work.
  9. Operate forklifts, man lifts, cranes, etc.
  10. Work in various plant areas and environmental conditions, including heights and confined spaces.

Essential Skills

  1. 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  2. Experience working with motors, controls, power supplies, and AC/DC theory.
  3. Experience with power distribution, VFDs, and PLCs.
  4. Troubleshooting skills.
  5. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  6. Maintenance and repair expertise.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  1. Experience with welding, rigging, carpentry work, and performing miscellaneous repairs.
  2. Ability to operate various machinery and equipment.
  3. Strong problem-solving skills.
  4. Ability to work in different environmental conditions and at various heights.

Work Environment

Our manufacturing facility is highly industrial, performing steel manufacturing processes such as melting, hot rolling, and slitting. The work environment includes a variety of plant areas with different conditions such as hot, cold, and dirty. You will work Monday through Friday on a rotating shift schedule, with shifts starting at 6AM, 2PM, and 10PM, and you will receive shift differentials and overtime pay. The facility operates one of the world's most powerful mills and focuses on producing specialty sheets, rolled strips, and plates of metal.

This is a Permanent position based out of Washington, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $59072.00 - $110000.00.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Washington, PA.
