Job Summary:
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician possesses technical skills in several areas including machine and facility maintenance and can perform these tasks confidently and efficiently.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and systems according to established schedules.
- Inspect and test equipment to identify issues and potential problems.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts as needed to maintain optimal performance.
Repair and Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems to restore functionality.
- Conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying reasons for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Facility Maintenance:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting.
- Monitor and maintain building infrastructure, such as roofs, walls, floors, and doors
- Address maintenance requests and issues reported by occupants or management in a timely manner.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Conduct safety inspections of equipment and facilities and address any hazards or non-compliance issues.
- Follow established procedures for the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment logs.
- Document repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks performed, including parts used and labor hours expended.
- Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance costs for management review.
Education/Experience:
- Knowledge and experience in Facility and Machine maintenance.
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Work environment may include exposure to noise, vibrations, and hazardous materials.
- May be required to work in confined spaces or at heights, and to lift heavy objects.
- Flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate maintenance needs, including evening, weekend, or on-call shifts.
- Ability to walk, stand, kneel, lift, carry, push, and pull.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
