Job summary

SSAB is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Operator to maintain, repair, and improve industrial equipment in a heavy manufacturing setting. You will apply millwright skills, welding, and basic hydraulics and pneumatics to keep plant operations safe and efficient.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of heavy industrial experience, and the ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts days and nights. Preference for an associate degree or certificate and Stick/Overhead welding (3G)

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent GED or HSE.
• Strong mechanical background with heavy industrial experience.
• Minimum 2 years of heavy industrial experience.
• Stick/Overhead welding experience; 3G welding test preferred.
• Basic PLC/electrical understanding; MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform the essential functions of a millwright with extensive welding applications.
• Maintain, repair, and improve industrial equipment and facilities.
• Troubleshoot and support process improvements in a team environment.
• Install modifications to existing equipment as required.
• Perform administrative tasks as may be assigned.
