Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for the Hot Dip Galvanizing Line. You will provide technical expertise to determine root causes of equipment failures and implement actions to improve reliability and uptime.

You will collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to plan outages, establish preventive maintenance procedures, and coordinate with suppliers for equipment improvements and reliability gains.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Demonstrated equipment reliability knowledge.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Experience using CMMS or similar electronic maintenance systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Monitor line equipment availability and efficiency; analyze data to identify key problems.
Perform root-cause analysis and initiate corrective actions to reduce failures.
Assist in planning outages, preventive maintenance, and spares management; define maintenance procedures.
