Job summary

Sylvamo is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Associate for the Eastover Mill in Eastover, SC. This on-site role involves maintaining and repairing rotating equipment, pumps, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic components to minimize downtime.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, teamwork, and at least 1 year in a heavy industrial maintenance environment. Drug screens and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to function in a team environment.
• 1 year minimum experience in industrial setting performing as Mechanic or Millwright.
• 1 Year Vocational/Technical education in the field of Industrial Maintenance/Welding/Millwright.
• Must be able to pass hands on demonstrated skill test and written tests.

Responsibilities

• Replace valves & gaskets.
• Basic welding.
• Repacking pumps & valves.
• Forklift operations.
• Screwed pipe & tubing installations.
• Cylinder repair.
• Pump repair & replacement.
• Repair of rotating assemblies.
• Roll repair and replacements.
• Motor replacements.
• Repair of mechanical drive systems, gear reducers, seals, fans, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication and rigging.
