Job summary

EVONA seeks a hands-on engineering leader to own the thermal and fluid systems for a commercial space station. You will lead a small team of mechanical engineers, contribute to architecture, design and test, and shepherd hardware from trades through qualification to on-orbit operation.

Based onsite in Long Beach, CA, you will collaborate across disciplines, mentor the team, and drive rapid prototyping and rigorous analysis to meet mission-critical reliability, with equity and relocation support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Hands-on hardware experience in fabrication, assembly and testing.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and performance of thermal control hardware, incl. fluid loops, tubing and trays.
• Lead hardware through design trades, manufacturing, qualification, launch prep and on-orbit operation.
• Drive rapid prototyping and iterative testing to mature designs.
• Oversee analyses, requirements and integration with avionics, software and mission operations.
• Lead reviews to ensure human-rated reliability and safety.
• Deliver manufacturable designs with technician and manufacturing teams.
