Job summary

EVONA in Denver is seeking a Spacecraft Thermal Engineer to own thermal architecture and analysis across the full lifecycle of a spacecraft, from design to testing and operations. You will build and validate thermal models, support TVAC campaigns, and collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, systems and AIT teams to ensure performance in harsh space environments.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with hardware, solving real thermal problems from concept through orbit, with opportunities

Qualifications

  • Strong spacecraft thermal engineering knowledge.
  • Experience defining spacecraft thermal architectures.
  • Experience developing and working with thermal models.
  • Understanding of spacecraft hot-case and cold-case analysis.
  • Experience supporting thermal vacuum testing and model correlation.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Ability to investigate and solve complex thermal problems.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Define spacecraft thermal architectures including radiators, blankets, heaters and other controls.
  • Build and maintain spacecraft thermal models and predict performance across hot and cold cases.
  • Support TVAC campaigns by predicting thermal behaviour and defining test criteria.
  • Correlate models with test results and refine as needed.
  • Investigate thermal issues and drive resolution with the broader team.
  • Support spacecraft through flight operations and live environment testing.
