Job summary

AECOM seeks an experienced Mechanical Lead Project Manager to lead planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical systems in data center construction projects. This on-site role in McGregor, TX requires leadership, compliance with project specs, safety, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings expertise in mechanical systems, construction contracts, and regulatory requirements, with eight+ years of related experience and PMP/PE certification.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with eight years of related experience.
• Experience with mechanical systems, construction contracts, and regulatory requirements.
• OSHA 10-Hour Training.
• Familiarity with hyperscale data centers, uptime, redundancy, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for mechanical-related concerns, coordinating with project leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate mechanical systems into project designs, addressing conflicts and confirming seamless execution.
• Confirm adherence to OSHA regulations, project-specific safety guidelines, and environmental and sustainability standards.
• Maintain detailed records of test results, certifications, and compliance reports for final project handover.
• Track mechanical-related costs, monitor expenditures, and manage budgets to prevent cost overruns while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Review Mechanical design drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance with contract requirements, building codes, and industry standards.
• Supervise mechanical subcontractors, confirming proper sequencing of installations and adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
• Oversee system testing, inspections, and commissioning processes to confirm mechanical components function correctly and meet performance requirements.
• Coordinate client outage/shutdown procedures and notify relevant parties of test failures while planning corrective actions.
• Participate in post-construction evaluations and warranty follow-ups to address system performance issues and provide long- term operational support.
