Job summary

General Motors in Flint, MI is seeking qualified Mechanical Journeypersons (Millwright) to operate, maintain and repair a range of industrial machinery, conveyors, robotic systems and CNC tools. You will read blueprints, work with piping and hydraulics, and perform preventive maintenance with strict safety adherence.

The position requires completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent experience, eligibility to work in the United States, and willingness to work varied shifts with overtime.

Qualifications

• Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Mechanical trade or six years of documented experience.
• U.S. work eligibility and ability to work flexible shifts including nights and overtime.
• Capable of reading blueprints and maintaining machinery per specifications.

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA procedures and GM safety guidelines.
• Maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain piping systems and install components.
• Read blueprints for conveyor systems, robotics, and automation.
• Operate CNC lathes, mills, and grinders to shape parts to specs.
• Set up tools and jigs to precise tolerances and inspect finished work.
