Job summary

Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing mechanical/hydraulic systems, reading blueprints for conveyors and automation, operating CNC tools, and fabricating piping and tooling while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Flexible shifts and overtime are required.

Qualifications

• At least six years of related experience in a Mechanical trade or a U.S. DOL certificate in a mechanical trade.
• Must satisfactorily complete GM hiring process including comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Willing to work flexible shift hours and overtime, including days, afternoons, or nights.
• GM does not provide immigration sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures.
• Maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems.
• Use hand or power tools for measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, soldering, assembling, joining, and installing pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Read and interpret blueprints for mechanical operation and assembly of conveyor systems, robots, and other automation.
• Operate mobile equipment (e.g. forklifts, vertical lifts, cranes).
• Determine loading requirements to rig equipment and material for lifting.
• Set up and operate CNC machine tools to shape parts.
• Fabricate tools and tooling to exact specifications.
• Plan sequences of operations using blueprints, sketches, or models.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers and micrometers.
