The role involves drafting and prosecuting US patent applications, handling mechanical engineering portfolios, and collaborating across offices nationwide.

The successful candidate will hold a JD, be admitted to the USPTO, and possess a mechanical engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (non-negotiable)
• 4-6 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience
• USPTO registration required
• JD and bar license in the state of the applicable office

Responsibilities

• Drafting and prosecuting U.S. provisional, utility, and international patent applications
• Preparing patentability opinions for clients in the mechanical engineering space
• Strategically planning and maintaining patent portfolios
• Working on matters involving machines and mechanical inventions
• Collaborating with a national IP team across multiple offices
