IMEG Corp in Germantown, MD is seeking a Mechanical Intern Technician for a 10-12 week summer internship. You will assist in the analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems on real projects, collaborating closely with experienced engineers and consultants.

You will support project documentation, site observations, and coordination across disciplines, helping to meet budgets and client expectations while contributing to government, science & technology markets and energy‑efficient

Qualifications

• Required Education pursuing an Associate’s Degree utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering required
• Required Skills/Abilities May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing
• Preferred Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of mechanical systems projects according to code and IMEG standards
• Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment
• Assist with client relations, project design notebook updates, and documentation for permanent record files
• Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Intern Technician in Germantown, MD. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants on real project work. In this role, you'll support project documentation, coordination, and site observations while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You'll contribute to work in government/municipal and science & technology markets, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Bring

State of Maryland Pay Range: $22.00–$24.00 per hour

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location. Individual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
