Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is seeking a Mechanical Intern to assist the engineering staff on assigned projects and begin learning discipline policies and procedures.

Under supervision, you will participate in technical studies, investigations, and designs while supporting the project team. You will learn to operate a computer for email and document production, traverse construction sites to inspect work, and handle plans weighing up to 30 pounds as part of the practical internship experience

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to learn the basics of design and analyses within his or her discipline.
• An individual with potential for employment and growth within the firm.
• Incumbent must be able to operate a computer to check email and to produce documents using a software program.
• Incumbent shall be able to traverse and navigate construction sites to inspect work done by contractors.
• Manipulates plans periodically. Must be able to lift plans weighting 30 pounds.
