Job summary

RA Holdings Group in the Hampton Roads area is seeking an insulation helper to measure, cut, and install insulation on pipes, ducts, and mechanical equipment.

You will assist with insulation on HVAC, refrigeration, and other mechanical systems, reading blueprints to determine requirements and applying insulation to hot and cold systems. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and accuracy on commercial, industrial, and federal projects.

Qualifications

• Background check for DBIDS badge is required.
• REAL ID, SSN, and birth certificate are required.
• Must have a vehicle and be willing to travel within the 757 cities.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and install insulation on pipes, ducts, and equipment.
• Assist with insulation on HVAC, refrigeration, and other mechanical systems.
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine duct work requirements.
• Apply insulation to hot and cold systems, including refrigeration.
• Ensure safety and code compliance.
• Collaborate with contractors and trades on projects.
• Work on commercial, industrial, military base, and federal projects.
• Attention to detail in cutting and fitting insulation.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Learn to measure, cut, and install insulation materials on pipes, ducts, and mechanical equipment.
• Assist with installing insulation on hot and cold systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, and other mechanical systems.
• Learn to work with different types of insulation materials, including fiberglass, foam, pipe wrap, duct board, and other specialty materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine duct work requirements.
• Apply insulation to both hot and cold systems, including refrigeration and cold storage.
• Ensure safety and compliance with building codes and industry standards.
• Collaborate with contractors and other trades on construction or retrofit projects.
• You will work on commercial, industrial, military base, and federal projects as assigned.
• Attention to detail and precision in cutting and fitting insulation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with design-build projects and construction processes is a plus.

Required Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass a background check to obtain DBIDS military badging.
• Must have the REAL ID, Social Security, and Birth Certificate.
• Must have a vehicle and ability to travel within the 757 cities.
• Previous knowledge in construction, sheet metal, HVAC helper, or carpentry would be desirable, but not required.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm

Location:

• Hampton Roads, VA

Pay:

• $18-22hr+
