RA Holdings Group, through our Retro Insulation branch, is seeking a Mechanical Insulator Superintendent/Foreman in Virginia Beach, VA. You will manage multiple industrial insulation projects, lead field crews, and coordinate with general contractors and clients to meet schedules and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field crews of 5–30 on industrial insulation work.

• Plan daily activities, assign manpower, and conduct safety talks.
• Read blueprints and insulation specs to ensure compliance and quality.
• Inspect installations and document progress and material usage.

Job Description:

• Manage 3–5 projects simultaneously, ranging in value from approximately $30,000 to $6 million, working alongside Project Managers to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards.
• Supervise and lead field crews varying from 5-30 employees at any given time working on industrial mechanical insulation work.
• Communicate and coordinate with General Contractor (GC) Superintendents, Project Managers, clients, and other trades regarding project schedules, jobsite conditions, progress, and installation requirements.
• Plan daily work activities, assign manpower, communicate expectations to field crews, conduct JHAs and Toolbox Talks, and utilize FieldFlo to manage schedules, projects, and assignments.
• Lead and enforce jobsite safety requirements, including proper PPE, safe work practices, and daily safety procedures.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and jobsite needs with Project Managers and other field leadership.
• Identify and communicate field issues, material needs, delays, changes in scope, and other project concerns.
• Monitor crew productivity, workmanship, material usage, and overall project progress.
• Read and interpret project blueprints, drawings, specifications, schedules, and insulation requirements.
• Ensure insulation materials, installation methods, and finishes meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect and ensure quality installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial mechanical insulation systems on process piping, industrial refrigeration, equipment, vessels, tanks, ductwork, and other mechanical systems.
• Train, coach, and provide hands-on guidance to Mechanics, Helpers, and other field employees as needed.
• Work with a variety of industrial mechanical insulation materials, including fiberglass, mineral wool, calcium silicate, cellular glass, closed-cell foam products, removable insulation blankets, and aluminum or stainless-steel jacketing, along with applicable vapor barriers, weather barriers, mastics, and protective finishes.
• Industrial projects may include manufacturing and processing plants, chemical plants, power-generation facilities, pulp and paper mills, water/wastewater treatment plants, military industrial facilities, large industrial plants and more.
• Complete required field documentation, timekeeping, daily reports, and project paperwork.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in industrial mechanical insulation is required.
• Must be able to pass a background check to obtain DBIDS military badging.
• Must have the REAL ID or ability to obtain one.
• Must have a valid Driver's License to obtain a Company Vehicle.
• Clean driving record, or no-fault accidents, to qualify for our Company Auto Insurance.

Location:

• Based in Virginia Beach, VA, with projects throughout Hampton Roads and the Mid-Atlantic region.

Travel:

• Local and Regional Travel as needed for projects and client meetings, primarily during business hours.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday. 7:00am to 4:30pm.
• Must be available for weekend work and on call based on project needs.

Pay:

• $28 to $34hr or more depending on experience.
