Job summary

Knight Enterprises Management, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to perform first piece and in-process inspections to ensure components meet engineering drawings. You will interact with shop floor, production and engineering to resolve non-conformances and document results weekly.

Responsibilities include inspecting machined components using calipers, micrometers, and CMM techniques; MS Office records; and collaborating with operators and engineers on corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Three years minimum experience in an NC machine manufacturing environment.
• CMM experience helpful but not required.
• Ability to learn is required.
• Proficient in the use of inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, Inter-mics, height gage).
• Working knowledge of MS Office products.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Piece inspections to verify part compliance with engineering drawings.
• Perform In-Process inspections on production parts to ensure continued compliance.
• Document results of all inspections and compile weekly inspection reports.
• Interface with machine operators and/or programmers to communicate and resolve non-conformances.
• Interface with Manufacturing Engineering to resolve drawing/fixture/programming issues.
• Input and print non-conformance reports using a computer.

Experience Required: Three years minimum experience in an NC machine manufacturing environment. Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience (PC-DMIS preferred) helpful but not required. Ability to learn is required.

Must be extremely proficient in the use of inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, Inter-mics, height gage, etc.).

Must possess a working knowledge of MS Office products.

Purpose of position: To perform first piece, and in-process inspections on machined components in order to ensure compliance to Engineering drawings.

Interface with shop floor, production and Engineering personnel to ensure timely resolution of Non-conformances.

Ensure that all product manufactured at KAC meets all Engineering requirements.

Description of job duties:

• Perform First Piece inspections in order to verify part compliance to Engineering drawings prior to approving the part for

Production machining.

• Perform In-Process inspections on production parts in order to ensure continued compliance to Engineering drawings.
• Document the results of all inspections and compile weekly reports of inspections performed.
• Interface with machine operators and/or programmers in order to communicate and resolve issues (non-conformances) in an effective and timely manner.

• Interface with Manufacturing Engineering personnel in order to resolve drawing, fixture or programming-related issues.
• Use a computer to input and print documents as non-conformance report.
