PTS Advance is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC design for our Dallas–Fort Worth area clients. You will lead design efforts from concept through completion on diverse commercial projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architects, clients, contractors, and internal teams while delivering robust, code-compliant mechanical systems and detailed documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of HVAC design experience within an MEP consulting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with HVAC load calculation software (HAP, Trane TRACE, or similar).
  • Understanding of ASHRAE standards and building design practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within a team environment.
  • PE license, EIT, or progress toward licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial building projects.
  • Perform HVAC calculations, equipment selections, and system layouts.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and design packages.
  • Collaborate with architects, clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams.
  • Coordinate HVAC designs with other MEP disciplines.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical input throughout the design process.
  • Assist with project reviews, quality control, and mentoring junior team members.

Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC Design (MEP Consulting)

A respected and well established MEP consulting firm in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is looking to add a talented Mechanical Engineer with strong HVAC design experience to their team.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative group of engineers and designers working on a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple industries. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys solving complex design challenges, collaborating with a strong internal team, and having the opportunity to grow their technical skills and career.

The team works on a variety of exciting projects including commercial facilities, education, healthcare, industrial, municipal, and other complex building environments. This role provides exposure to different project types while allowing engineers to take ownership of designs from concept through completion.

What You’ll Be Doing:
