Job summary

RK Industries is seeking a Lead Field Operations leader in Abilene to oversee large-scale construction operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and drive performance from preconstruction through turnover. You will mentor field personnel, optimize planning, scheduling, prefabrication, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver safe, high-quality projects on schedule.

Qualifications

10+ years of construction leadership experience.
Experience leading commercial, industrial, or mechanical construction projects.
College degree or equivalent combination of experience and technical knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily field operations, workforce planning, and project execution activities.
Lead and coordinate craft professionals, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and field leadership teams.
Develop and execute a comprehensive project Master Plan to support successful project delivery.
Manage scheduling activities and ensure work is performed in alignment with milestones and objectives.
Execute, supervise, and maintain CPM scheduling and project planning initiatives.
Coordinate daily and weekly work activities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Requisition, manage, and track project tools, materials, and equipment.
Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship quality, and equipment supplier execution.
Coordinate inspections and maintain relationships with project authorities and inspectors.
Review labor hours, productivity reports, and project cost information with Project Management.
Drive project quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
Lead workforce planning, budgeting, and resource allocation strategies.
Maintain complete project documentation and mentor field personnel.

The best General Superintendents do more than oversee construction activities. They lead people, develop future leaders, drive project execution, and ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.

At RK Industries, you’ll serve as a key field leader responsible for overseeing large-scale construction operations, coordinating multiple crews and subcontractors, and driving project performance from preconstruction through final turnover. Working closely with Project Managers, customers, vendors, and field leadership teams, you’ll play a critical role in workforce planning, productivity management, safety performance, quality execution, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Lead

Oversee daily field operations, workforce planning, and project execution activities
Lead and coordinate craft professionals, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and field leadership teams
Develop and execute a comprehensive project "Master Plan" to support successful project delivery
Manage scheduling activities and ensure work is performed in alignment with project milestones and objectives
Execute, supervise, and maintain CPM scheduling and project planning initiatives
Coordinate daily and weekly work activities to maximize productivity and efficiency
Requisition, manage, and track project tools, materials, and equipment
Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship quality, and equipment supplier execution
Coordinate required inspections and maintain strong relationships with project authorities and inspectors
Review labor hours, productivity reports, and project cost information with Project Management on a regular basis
Optimize project opportunities through workforce planning, prefabrication strategies, construction technology, and efficient scheduling practices
Assist Project Management with project schedules, labor resource planning, and budget allocation strategies
Maintain complete and accurate project documentation in accordance with company standards
Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, and professional development for field personnel
Review and approve workforce timekeeping and cost coding activities
Drive project quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction initiatives
Manage project turnover activities, punch list completion, owner training, demobilization, and project closeout efforts
Support operational excellence through continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives
Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring

Strong leadership experience managing construction field operations and large project teams
Extensive knowledge of construction scheduling, workforce planning, productivity management, and project execution
Demonstrated success leading commercial, industrial, or mechanical construction projects
Strong understanding of project budgeting, labor management, cost control, and resource planning
Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced, complex project environments
Strong understanding of safety requirements, quality standards, and construction best practices
Proven ability to develop talent, mentor field personnel, and build high-performing teams
