Job description

If you like running your own jobsites, this role is for you.

I'm recruiting a Mechanical Foreman for a second-generation, family-owned heavy civil contractor in southern/central New Hampshire. Roughly 80 people today, up from six figures in 2019 to about $20 million this year. That is not a lucky streak. That is what good leadership builds.

Responsibilities
  • The crew and the day's production. Set the pace, keep the workmanship tight, hit the schedule, send everyone home safe.
  • The mechanical and piping scope. Layout, isometrics, takeoffs, setting equipment, pumps, valves, and process piping to print and to code.
  • The flow. 3-week look-aheads, coordination, change orders, and clean daily reports.
  • You'd work directly with Project Management and the Mechanical Supervisor.

They want a foreman who can teach the next generation of field leaders, and you'll have a clear path to a supervisor seat as the company grows.

Their projects are sitework and big concrete buildings, with a focus on water/wastewater treatment plants and pump stations across NH, MA, and into southern Maine. They have a real backlog of projects you will be able to point to in twenty years.

One great thing about building your career here is that New Hampshire has no broad‑based income tax and no general sales tax, so you keep more of what you earn. Living in southern NH costs less than Massachusetts, and you're still within reach of Concord, Manchester, and Boston. If you're outdoorsy and like skiing, hiking, boating, or mountain biking, you're 15 to 30 minutes from some of the best New England has to offer. If you're open to relocating, let's see what's possible.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone with at least 5 years of field leadership in civil construction. Water/wastewater treatment plant experience is highly desirable, but I'm open to anyone strong in process piping, mechanical equipment installation, pumps, blowers, valves, or anything with a heavy mechanical component.

You should be able to read plans, specs, and one‑line drawings. OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred. Hoisting license, welding, rigging, or pipefitting experience is a plus.

Benefits

This is a full‑time, hourly position – $45–$50 per hour, plus bonus, company truck, cell, health, dental, PTO, 401(k) with company match, life insurance.
