Job summary

TEPA Companies is seeking a Mechanical Foreman to supervise a crew in the field construction of aboveground storage tanks and mechanical fuel systems. duties include day-to-day field tasks and ensuring adherence to project specs.

The role requires 5+ years of pipe fitting experience, blueprints literacy, and the ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS. Lifting and elevated work may be involved; a valid driver’s license and TWIC are required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of pipe fitting experience.
  • Pass SMAW/FCAW weld test in all positions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and instructions.
  • Knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes.
  • Experience in petroleum system construction/repair.
  • Willingness to travel and work in elevated areas.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain TWIC.
  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. military installations.

Responsibilities

LOCATION: This position requires frequent travel to project sites across the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS).

Hourly Range: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour + per diem

ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Mechanical Foreman to supervise a crew while performing various day‐to‐day tasks required in the field construction of aboveground storage tanks and/or mechanical fuel systems, including but not limited to executing any other general labor tasks as assigned.

Job Functions:
  • Supervise and assist and workers in their performance of assigned duties
  • Ensure equipment is inspected and maintained in proper working condition
  • Read and properly interpret engineering construction drawings
  • Conduct daily safety meetings (JHAs) when needed
  • Follow all safety rules, recognize and report safety hazards
  • Plan work as assigned and select proper tools
  • Follow welding specifications
  • Assist with hanging iron and fitting pipe
  • Operate automatic welding equipment (if qualified)
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of relevant pipe fitting experience
  • Must be able to pass the required weld test (SMAW/FCAW in all positions)
  • Must be able to fit structural plate and piping
  • Must have a working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards
  • Experience in the petroleum system construction/repair industry
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and written instructions
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and have a strong attention to detail
  • Must have physical dexterity
  • Must be able to understand, read and write in English
  • Must be able to work in elevated areas
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must obtain a TWIC card
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to U.S. military installations, including successfully passing a drug screen and back ground check in compliance with federal regulation
