Job summary

CoVolt Power is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to assist with the installation and commissioning of solar and energy storage project components. This role involves lifting, outdoor work, and following precise instructions while collaborating with field teams.

You will contribute to safe, high-quality field execution under varied weather conditions and may train others on full mechanical scopes, supporting the company’s commitment to reliable, sustainable energy delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical installation tasks on solar, BESS, and HV infrastructure.
  • Train others on at least one complete mechanical scope (piles, tracker, mods).
  • Support field execution with quality checks and documentation.
  • Operate safely in outdoor construction environments.

  • Module Staging
  • Module Installation
  • Tracker QA/QC
  • Module QA/QC
  • SPC Controller
  • Technical Aptitude assistance
  • Must be able to train others on at least 1 complete Mechanical Scope (Piles, Tracker, Mods).
Skills/Abilities
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds
  • Able to conduct repetitive actions, such as stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
  • Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
  • This position may also include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards
  • Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to follow precise instruction and receive feedback
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work well with others, including colleagues and supervisors
  • Experience working on construction projects preferred
  • Models behavior in safety, quality of work, attendance and punctuality, productivity, teamwork
  • Actively embodies Signal’s Core Principles and the One Team Approach: including planning, communication, and collaboration
  • Meets expectations with timely documentation of field decisions and reporting, such as Tier Boards and Production Tracking.

Education
  • GED or equivalent education
